Riyad Mahrez is distracted by Arsenal link - Claudio Ranieri

Kickbola.net Mahrez, who was named PFA Player of the Year last season, helped the Foxes win the most unlikely of Premier League titles by scoring 17 goals in 36 league appearances. .
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is usually tight-lipped when it comes to transfer dealings but his body language during interviews has spoken volumes down the years.

Riyad Mahrez has allowed himself to be distracted by speculation surrounding his future, according to Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri.

The Algeria international was outstanding last season as he scored 17 goals and added 11 assists on his way to the PFA Player of the Year award.

But he failed to shine during Leicester's 4-0 thumping by Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday and Ranieri admitted he is concerned his player's head has been turned by reports linking him with a move to Arsenal.

Claudio Raneri wants Mahrez to focus on Leicester City

"Maybe Riyad is distracted a bit by all of these rumours and speculation," Ranieri said. "But that is also an experience for my players.

"It is important that he understands that he should stay with us. He has to improve his fitness and play for the team as well as last season."

Arsene Wenger was coy when questioned about Mahrez

Arsene Wenger was in the stands on Saturday to watch Leicester, but was coy when asked if he was specifically there to scout Mahrez.

"We watch all the players. We play them in the second game of the championship so of course it is a good opportunity for us tonight to see them," Wenger told beIN SPORTS.

"I cannot give you a yes or a no [on Mahrez interest] because we do not publicise out transfer interest. The best way to make things happen is to keep it as secret as possible.

Jamie Vardy says it was an easy decision to reject Arsenal

Wenger has already been rebuffed by one Leicester star this summer, as Jamie Vardy rejected Arsenal after they triggered a release clause in his contract with a £20m bid.

Leicester begin the defence of their Premier League title with a trip to Hull City on Saturday August 13, live on Sky Sports 1 HD, before hosting Arsenal a week later.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan will join Manchester United – Borussia Dortmund

Kickbola.net Bundesliga club’s chief executive confirms they accepted United offer • Fee in region of £30m, but personal terms and medical to be finalised.
Manchester United have made another summer signing

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund, the German club have announced.

The 27-year-old Armenia international will become United’s third major summer signing under new coach José Mourinho, following on from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly.

A Dortmund statement read: “After intensive discussions BVB have complied with the wishes of the Armenian national team player to join Manchester United.”

Dortmund have not revealed the transfer fee for the former Shakhtar Donetsk player, but the Guardian understands it to be in the region of £30m.

“Manchester [United] have made us an enormously valuable offer,” said the Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke. “Had we rejected it, the player would have been able to leave for free in 2017. And all we would have done is delay the issue for another year.”

The expected move comes less than 24 hours after Ibrahimovic completed his switch to Old Trafford. “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester United and am looking forward to playing in the Premier League,” said the Swede.

“It goes without saying that I cannot wait to work with José Mourinho once again. He is a fantastic manager and I am ready for this new and exciting challenge.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my career so far and have some great memories.

I am now ready to create more special memories in England.”
